Summary

The Shuswap Nation Tribal Council (SNTC) has spearheaded a multi-year effort to engage all Secwépemc communities in a conversation about how to best achieve a shared vision of: “a unified nation operating under our own governance, guided by our own laws, supported by the management of our own resources, and founded in the strength of our language and ceremonies.” As part of this work, SNTC participated in the RELAW (Revitalizing Indigenous Law for Land, Air and Water) project – exploring the application of Secwépemc law to decisions about the land, water and sky worlds in Secwépemcúl’ecw (Secwépemc territories).

Learn more about SNTC’s experience participating in the RELAW project, and how outcomes of the project will help people engage with Secwépemc law.
