A proposed gas station, convenience store and restaurant are slated for development on the Courtenay River Estuary floodplain, across the road from the sensitive habitat of the estuary. The Sierra Club Comox Valley received an EDRF grant to appeal the decision of Justice MacKenzie with respect to the development on the Courtenay River Estuary. Their goal is to stop the proposed development and protect the estuary.
