Ben Dodd

Senior Climate Communications & Engagement Specialist

As the Senior Climate Communications Specialist at West Coast, Ben (he/him/his) leads communications efforts to engage communities across British Columbia in holding fossil fuel companies accountable for the rising costs of climate-related damages, and to build broad public support for stronger federal climate action and environmental laws.

Prior to joining West Coast, Ben worked at the Pratt Center for Community Development in Brooklyn, New York, where he guided the organization’s communications strategy and helped amplify community-based initiatives in climate resiliency, energy efficiency, and community economic development. He has a Master of Science in City & Regional Planning from Pratt Institute.

Ben is committed to advancing social justice through his work and is driven by a desire to make complex issues like climate policy and urban development feel accessible and impactful.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys gardening, organizing with For Our Kids Burnaby and learning about habitat restoration and watershed protection with the Beecher Creek Stream Keepers.
