Lucy Hough - Director of Development
Lucy’s passion for environmental conservation and healthy communities developed through her personal travel experiences to a few corners of BC - from Pacific Rim to Glacier to Atlin National Parks - and many beautiful places in between. Her love of “natural BC” compelled her to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and geography from SFU, furthering her understanding of science as a sound and persuasive element in making the case to protect the ecological and cultural diversity of British Columbia that she cherishes.
Lucy aligns closely with West Coast’s vision that environmental protection must be enshrined in law and was thrilled to join the West Coast team in 2008 as Director of Development. Lucy is a professionally accredited fundraiser (CFRE), with over a decade in resource development for non-profit environmental and community organizations. Lucy is inspired by the supporters of West Coast and honoured to help them take action on their own passion for the environment and to make the world a better place through philanthropy. Lucy, who was born and raised in the lower mainland, lives in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Lucy is active in her community and has previously volunteered on the Board of Directors of RainCity Housing and Support Society, the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation, and Theatre Terrific Society. In her current volunteer activities she is an adoptions counsellor with Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA).
