Wilderness Committee – Mid-Island Chapter

A 64 hectare stand of mature second growth Douglas Fir, DL33, was mistakenly allocated to the Nanoose First Nation for harvesting by BC Timber Sales. The Wilderness Committee recieved an EDRF grant to determine potential legal options to prevent the harvesting of DL33. Their goal is to preserve the DL33 and to have an alternative cutblock allocated to the Nanoose First Nation.
