Save the Cedar League
In 2004 a "Biodiversity Order" was issued stating 53% of cedar in the inland temperate rainforest must be conserved through Aspatial OGMAs (Old Growth Management Areas). The order stated that if the old growth in the region is at risk, then they may be converted to Spatial OGMAs. Government studies confirm that the region's old growth is at risk, but the government has declined to make a new order. The grant will be used to obtain legal advice on the options to press the BC government to establish special OGMAs.
